The Robooter E60 Pro GT is the new flagship version of Robooter’s E60 folding powerchair, designed for people who want considerably more outdoor capability than you would normally expect from a chair that can still fold for transport.

New for 2026, the GT builds on the established E60 Pro with its large 12-inch wheels, twin 250W brushless motors, a new integrated control system and a top speed of up to 6.2mph. It retains Robooter’s distinctive omni-directional front wheels, allowing impressive manoeuvrability despite its size, while pneumatic rear tyres and suspension help it cope with rougher outdoor surfaces.

With the standard 20Ah lithium battery, Robooter quotes a theoretical range of up to 14.3 miles. The E60 Pro GT supports users up to 150kg and can tackle obstacles of up to 8cm according to the manufacturer.

It also folds down for storage and transport, although at 37.4kg this is emphatically not a lightweight folding powerchair. We see the GT as a chair for someone prepared to accept extra weight in exchange for bigger wheels, more power and much greater capability outdoors.

For trips across promenades, country parks, gravel paths and uneven ground, the E60 Pro GT sits in a very different category from the conventional lightweight folding powerchair.

What makes the new GT different?

The E60 Pro was already unusual because it combined Robooter’s omni-directional front wheels with much larger tyres and suspension than you would typically find on a folding chair.

The new E60 Pro GT takes that idea further.

The most obvious upgrade is its pair of 250W brushless motors, coupled to 12-inch wheels front and rear. Robooter rates the GT Pro for obstacles of up to 80mm, compared with the smaller wheels found on many folding powerchairs.

There is also a revised integrated controller. Functions include a beginner mode, electronic freewheel or assist function, cruise control, front lighting and device charging.

The driving experience is therefore much closer to a substantial outdoor powerchair than the GT's folding frame might initially suggest.

Those unusual Robooter omni wheels

The large front wheels are one of the reasons the E60 Pro GT looks so distinctive.

Rather than using conventional swivelling castors, each front wheel contains multiple smaller rollers around its circumference. These allow the wheel to move laterally as the chair turns.

The advantage is manoeuvrability. A conventional large front wheel needs room to swivel around its mounting point; the Robooter wheel remains facing forwards while its rollers allow the chair to change direction.

It is an ingenious solution because larger front wheels are normally desirable outdoors, while smaller castors tend to be easier to manoeuvre indoors. Robooter is attempting to provide both characteristics in the same chair.

The rollers do, however, create a different sensation from a conventional tyre and can be more noticeable on certain hard or uneven surfaces. This is one of the reasons we recommend actually driving a Robooter rather than choosing one purely from the specification.

How capable is it outdoors?

For a folding powerchair, very capable.

The 12-inch front and rear wheels, pneumatic rear tyres, suspension and powerful motors give the GT a meaningful advantage across poorer surfaces.

Robooter specifically lists grass, gravel and uneven paths among the surfaces the chair is designed to tackle.

We would still be careful with the phrase “all-terrain”. No folding powerchair is immune to soft mud, deep gravel, steep cambers, wet grass or holes, and conditions can change enormously with weather.

But if you compare the GT with a typical folding powerchair using 7 or 8-inch wheels and limited ground clearance, there is a substantial difference.

We see the GT making particular sense for longer days out where surfaces might vary between pavements, compacted tracks, grass and gravel rather than remaining perfectly smooth throughout.

Range in the real world

The standard 20Ah battery has a manufacturer-rated theoretical range of 14.3 miles.

As always, we would not regard 14.3 miles as a guaranteed real-world figure.

User weight, gradients, tyre pressures, temperature, acceleration, speed and the amount of rough terrain encountered can all affect battery consumption. Soft grass in particular can require considerably more energy than travelling the same distance on smooth tarmac.

Our advice is therefore to choose a chair with considerably more theoretical range than the journey you actually need to complete.

Lithium battery and charging advice

The GT uses a removable lithium battery, which is useful both for charging and storage.

For everyday use, our preference is to charge after using the chair rather than deliberately running the battery completely flat. Use the correct charger supplied for the battery and charge it somewhere dry and well ventilated.

If a lithium battery is ever heavily damaged, unusually hot, swollen or physically distorted, don't continue using or charging it until it has been inspected.

If you're planning to fly with the GT, speak to us before booking. The normal high-capacity battery isn't intended as an airline travel battery, and a smaller optional travel battery is available. Airlines can apply their own procedures for powered wheelchairs and lithium batteries, so acceptance should always be confirmed directly with the airline before travelling.

Folding doesn't necessarily mean lightweight

This is probably the most important limitation to understand.

The E60 Pro GT weighs approximately 37.4kg.

It folds, but it doesn't dismantle into several lightweight sections. Folding makes a large powerchair physically smaller; it does not suddenly make 37kg easy to lift.

We would therefore hesitate to describe this as a conventional “car boot powerchair”.

For some customers, 37kg going into a large SUV or estate with two people lifting it may be perfectly manageable. For others, a boot hoist or ramp is going to make much more sense.

If one person needs to lift their powerchair regularly, there are substantially lighter products we would recommend looking at instead.

The GT is the chair to consider when capability is the priority and folding is useful, rather than when minimum lifting weight is the priority.

Faster than most folding powerchairs

The E60 Pro GT has two driving modes, with Robooter listing a normal maximum speed of 4mph and an enhanced maximum of 6.2mph on the UK specification.

That extra pace suits the character of the chair. Somebody using it for longer outdoor journeys can cover ground considerably quicker than with the many folding powerchairs limited to 4mph.

Cruise control is another unusual addition. On a long, straightforward stretch of path it can reduce the need to continually hold the joystick in precisely the same position.

As with every powered wheelchair, speed should always be appropriate for the environment, surface and people around you.

Comfort and adjustment

The GT isn't a fully prescriptive rehabilitation powerchair, but it offers considerably more adjustment than many fixed folding chairs.

The armrests can be adjusted for height and width, the backrest angle can be adjusted and the footplate extends to accommodate different leg lengths.

Someone requiring specialist pressure care or substantial postural support may still be better served by a prescriptive powerchair.

Our view of the Robooter E60 Pro GT

We think the easiest way to understand the E60 Pro GT is to stop comparing it with ultralight folding powerchairs.

If your main question is “what is the easiest powerchair to lift into my car?”, this probably isn't it.

If your question is “what is one of the most capable powerchairs I can buy that still folds?”, the GT becomes much more interesting.

The large wheels, powerful brushless motors, suspension, adjustable seating and clever omni-wheel system give it genuine substance outdoors. It also looks nothing like the traditional mobility equipment many people are keen to avoid.

Its compromises are equally clear. It is heavy, large when folded and more complex than a simple lightweight chair. Pneumatic rear tyres also bring the comfort and grip advantages of air-filled tyres but require sensible tyre-pressure checks and can puncture.

For somebody who understands those compromises and wants a powerchair for adventures, longer days out and genuinely mixed terrain, we think the new E60 Pro GT is one of the most interesting folding powerchairs currently available.
